About Olive's Heroes!

Olive is four years old. Don't let this sweet, optimistic face fool you. She's been through some hard times, including life as a stray. She arrived at the LA county animal shelter with severe injuries to her head, back and hips. She spent 2 months in the hospital, and she narrowly escaped euthanasia.
That’s not how Olive would tell her story. She’d tell you about her first family, who loved her, and taught her tricks. She’d tell you about the vets and vet techs that healed her. She’d talk about the nice couple that drove her from L.A. to Portland. She’d tell you about the boys she lives with, and the many games of fetch she plays. She’d especially want to tell you about her cats.

Olive thinks the best of people. That’s why we’ve started Olive’s Heroes, a project that raises awareness about the awesomeness of dogs from rescue and money for dogs in need. We want to spread the word about how great dogs in rescue are. And to raise money for those heroes that do good for dogs, one dog at a time.

Each month, we pick a rescue group to promote on our blog and website. We make arrangements with our shopping partners to donate a portion of their profits to these rescue groups from folks who shop on their site and use the coupon code “Olive” in their coupon code box. We provide a link to the rescue so that you can donate directly.

We also donate a nickel for every follower we get on twitter for that month.

Through the sale of Olive’s Notecards, we raise money for the Olive’s Heroes Fund, which donates money to dogs that need emergency medical care.

We hope you enjoy our blog. We hope you get your next dog from a rescue or shelter. We hope, if you have a little money, that you give to help dogs in need. It all started with a dog named Olive. You can read her story here!

Bridget takes care of Olive, making sure she's ready for her close-up. She also does stuff at Olive's Heroes. You can read about her here.
